How this site is made.
The idea is a terminal made public: the box is a shell that can be wiped, and the site is the message of the day.
- framework
- Astro, static output, content collections for writing. No client framework; the only JavaScript draws the ASCII objects, types the shell chips, and marks the active window.
- theme
- Catppuccin Macchiato, the same palette as my zebar and tmux. Mauve is the one accent and it marks the active thing.
- type
- JetBrains Mono for anything structural, Hanken Grotesk for reading. Both self-hosted.
- the object
- A golden-ratio spiral (r = a·ebθ, b = ln φ / (π/2)) projected as a 3-D point cloud into a character grid by about two hundred lines of canvas code, glyphs from the digits of φ, no dependencies. It paints one frame under reduced-motion and pauses when the tab is hidden.
- nav
- A tmux status line, in CSS. Windows keep their numbers; hidden ones are sections that don't have content yet.
- code
- Highlighted with Shiki in the same Catppuccin flavour.
- hosting
- GitHub Pages from a GitHub Actions build on push to main. Source: Lucas-Liona/Personal-Website.
- design
- Direction and build with Claude (Fable 5.1) in Claude Code, iterating on screenshots. The generic first pass was thrown out; the log of why is in
site/DESIGN.md. - tracking
- None. No analytics, no cookies, no counters.
